Public Relations Committee

The Committee's Terms of Reference are to establish and maintain goodwill and mutual understanding of church bell ringing between:

• the Central Council, its officers, committees and members;
• bell ringers, associations/guilds/societies in the British Isles and overseas;
• church authorities, the media, and the general public.

Activities

The committee provides a contact point with ringing for Press and public and performs other services including:

• press releases to promote ringing for special occasions
• press cuttings a reference resource
• the provision of promotional and support material for ringers and parishes
• exhibition stands and materials on loan
• the UK support network for handling complaints about ringing
• sponsorship of the Ringing Roadshow held approximately every second year
• publication of contact information and schedulesfor University ringing societies

Other projects are undertaken as appropriate, ranging from the Millennium Project to the promotion of ringing for special occasions.
